In what scenarios would I not need to have my fingerprints done?

You do not have submit fingerprints to TREC if:

  • You got it done for TALCB for an appraiser’s license
  • You got it done for TREC if you have a current active license (real estate sales agent, broker, inspector, or Easement of Right of Way license)
  • You are reapplying for a TREC license and already had your fingerprints done

If you had a current TREC license and let it expire for longer than 2 years and have to complete your pre-licensing education requirements again, it is possible that you may have to get your fingerprints done again. TREC reviews applicants in this scenario on a case-by-case basis, so you may or may not have to have your fingerprints taken again.
