You're required to bring two forms of current signature identification. Later down, we talk about the type of calculators you can bring. Calculators are optional. Scratch paper is allowed as long as it is blank on both sides.
IDENTIFICATION
You’ll need to bring two forms of current signature identification. The name on the ID must match the name your registration is under. The primary identification must be government issued with a photo of you as well as your signature. The secondary identification just needs to have your signature. Both forms of ID also need to be in English.
If you do not present two forms of current signature ID, you will not be allowed to take the test and forfeit your exam fee. Also, Pearson VUE does not recognize grace periods. This means that if your driver license expired yesterday and the state allows a 30-day grace period for renewing your driver license, Pearson VUE considers your license to be expired. They also will not accept a paper copy of your temporary license if you have recently renewed it and are waiting for your plastic card to come in the mail.
If your test center is on a military installation, you need a military ID or dependent military ID to get on base. Normal civilians without valid government ID will be turned away.
Examples of accepted primary identification are:
- Government-issued driver license
- US Department of State driver license
- US learner’s permit (plastic card only with photo and signature)
- National/State/Country ID card
- Passport
- Passport card
- Military ID
- MIlitary ID for spouses and dependents
- Alien Registration Card (green card, Permanent Resident visa)
Examples of accepted secondary identification are:
- US Social Security card
- Debit (ATM) or credit card
- Any form of ID on the primary identification list
CALCULATORS
We recommend bringing a calculator, but it’s not a required item. You can’t just bring any kind of calculator though. They accept hand-held, battery, or solar-powered financial calculators used in real estate, finance, accounting, and business. No graphing calculators! Your financial calculator can have storage capabilities but it should not have any letters (alpha characters) on it with the exception of mathematical symbols such as “cos” or “sin”.
SCRATCH PAPER
You can bring scratch paper as long as your paper is blank on both sides.
