Is there anything I need before getting started?

1. Make sure you're qualified to become a real estate broker first.

Before you begin taking your pre-licensing courses, you'll first need to make sure you meet Colorado’s qualifications for becoming a real estate broker.

Here are the requirements you need to meet:

  1. You can get started on your pre-license course work if you are under 18 years old, but you’ll need to be at least 18 years old to submit your application for licensure.
  2. Ensure that you meet the standards set by the state for “Truthfulness, honesty, and good moral character.” Before you can be licensed, you’ll be required to submit a background check. If you have concerns about anything on your record, you can request a Preliminary Advisory Opinion for Licensure. For more details, click here
  3. You’ll also need a Social Security Number to take this course. You’ll be required to provide one to the testing location, PSI, so they can submit your licensing exam scores to the state.

Please note that residency is not a requirement for Colorado real estate brokers.

2. Meet the system requirements to take our courses and exams.
