How much does the licensing exam cost, and how do I pay for it?

The state licensing exam costs $56 per attempt. That means that even if you only need to retake the state or national portion of the exam, you'll pay the full $56 for your second attempt.

You must pay the $56 examination fee to PSI when you schedule your exam. You can pay by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express), cashier’s check, or money order made payable to PSI.)

Important Update: NCREC is changing license exam providers from PSI to Pearson VUE, the last day to register for the old test is 2/21, to take the test is 2/28. Any exam registration after will follow the below process:

The licensing exam is split into two portions, National and State. Exam attempts cost $60 per attempt for both portions, and $50 per attempt for a single portion. That means that even if you only need to retake the state or national portion of the exam, you'll pay the $50 for your second attempt.

You must pay the examination fee to Pearson VUE when you schedule your exam. You can pay by Visa, American Express, or MasterCard debit or credit cards.
