The Tennessee Real Estate Commission does not allow anyone on parole or probation to be scheduled for examination unless two (2) years have passed from the date of expiration of probation, conviction, or release from incarceration, whichever is later.
Additionally, on your application you’ll be asked to answer a few questions ensuring that nothing on your background will interfere with your ability to work as an affiliate broker in Tennessee.
If you’re concerned about something on your record, you can petition the Commission prior to taking or completing pre-license education and/or the licensing examination by submitting an Application for Decision Regarding Prior Criminal Convictions. You can submit this petition at any time, including before you purchase your pre-license course!
